Quotes from an Admiral and an Author

In December of 2008 two people provided quotes for the project.  These two people approach this look at the American experience of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from vastly different roles in the countries of Iraq and Afghanistan.  Here are the quotes I'm talking about:

"This project uniquely captures the human dimension of war."
Manson K. Brown
Rear Admiral, U.S. Coast Guard
2004,  senior Advisor for Transportation to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq
"The 100 Faces project is a moving, haunting, and beautiful tribute to the sacrifices and courage of our service members."
Khaled Hosseini
Author of The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns

I had the opportunity to talk with Rear Admiral Brown at the exhibition of 100 Faces at the Coast Guard academy.  Mr. Hosseini have been communicating through email and I have read his books. Khaled Hosseini is an Afghani American and his books provide an incredible look into the culture of Afghanistan.
What strikes me about Both admiral Brown and Mr. Hosseini is how deeply they feel for both the people of Iraq and Afghanistan and for the people in the American military.
